Jerome, Arkansas

A simple stone marker provides a synopsis of a much larger story.
During WWII, the population of Jerome was greatly increased because of the  internment of thousands of American citizens of Japenese descent.
After leading a book study with middle schoolers (Farewell to Manzanar), I  was compelled to find this place.
Remnants and rubble are almost completely hidden by trees and brush.
